2016 Cannondale Trigger 4

Combine equal parts CX speed and all-mountain capability and you'll end up with Cannondales' Trigger 4. Cannondale built their reputation on aluminum frames, and their revolutionary SmartFormed tech delivers low weight, quick pedal response, and high-end ride quality. A 140mm-travel Fox 34 Float fork leads the way, and out back a Fox DYAD shock boasts 140mm of rider-tunable, big-hit-swallowing travel that can be adjusted by a bar-mounted lever to 85mm when it's time to ascend. Up or down, a Deore drivetrain from Shimano has all the right gears, and features Shimano's smooth, reliable shifting. WTB rims and Formula hubs build into a light, smooth, and sturdy wheelset, and when they're paired with grippy Schwalbe Nobby Nic tires, the Trigger is ready for whatever terrain lays ahead. You have to put a stop to the fun sometime, and Shimano's Deore disc brakes make it easy to scrub speed. A selection of Cannondale's own light components and a supportive WTB saddle are just as all-mountain as the rest of the bike.

Forget 29er's! This is the downhill machine to have.

    Comments:

I really went around in circles for a month trying to find the right bike. I test drove a few different 29'ers and liked the overall speed of them but when the trail gets tricky, the bike was frozen like a deer in headlights... good thing those big tires can go over, bc it has a tough time going around. The front rake on a 140mm travel bike with a 29er on it is like maneuvering a submarine... that's not downhill racing! The 650B Cannondale Trigger was quick, nibble, hops over anything it can't maneuver around and good looking. I got so stoked on the price drop and had to pull the trigger ;) Great bike, no regrets, but I am adding a seat dropper (reverb). Makes life so much easier. Enjoy!
